FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PR Log (Press Release) – Dec 21, 2009 – Fernley, Nevada:

HydroTech Inc., a General Engineering Contractor specializing in wet utilities and construction, recently entered into a Mentor-Protégé agreement with Granite Construction Company under the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (“SBA”) 8(a) Business Development Program. Through this agreement, Granite Construction will provide developmental assistance and mentoring to Fernley, Nevada-based HydroTech Inc. The Mentor-Protégé agreement will foster increased collaboration between Granite and HydroTech towards the acquisition of large-scale federal contracts.

The Mentor-Protégé Program was created to motivate and encourage large firms to assist small business entities that are certified through the SBA 8(a) Program. The mentors share expertise, resources, and capabilities with the protégés as well as assistance in performing prime contracts as joint venture partners.

According to Debra Brazell, the President of HydroTech Inc., the partnership will be mutually beneficial for all parties. “HydroTech Inc. is honored to have been selected by a construction firm as prestigious as Granite to participate in the Mentor-Protégé program,” said Brazell. “While HydroTech will certainly benefit from the opportunity afforded by this innovative program, we plan to greatly contribute and make this a true win-win partnership for all involved.”

Granite Construction Company is one of the largest heavy civil construction firms in the United States, with 2,000 salaried employees, and annual revenues exceeding $2 billion. Granite has extensive experience working with federal agencies throughout the country. “This program provides a great opportunity for Granite to mentor a progressive and capable firm such as HydroTech as we pursue government-related opportunities throughout the region,” said Rod Cooper, Regional Manager, Granite Construction Company.
