The US SBA has been elemental in HydroTechs success

The US SBA has been elemental in HydroTech's success

This year, the SBA is struggling to find it’s usual budget as companies like AIG and CitiGroup are “hogging all the money”. According to The Street, The SBA has seen a “7% uptick in the SBA’s counseling services, such as the mentor/protege program in which a big company takes a disadvantaged firm under its wing so the two can compete for government contracts together. Granite Construction(GVA Quote) last month agreed to mentor contractor HydroTech Inc.”

The success of the SBA lies in it’s vast resources- “1,400 individuals at 68 field offices across the country”.

HydroTech Inc’s Cosmic Top Hat installations in California and Utah

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Being an authorized installer of Cosmic Top Hat™ Lateral Seal Systems gives HydroTech Inc. the opportunity to spread the news about this great trenchless technology. Two recent projects in California and Utah allowed HydroTech to work with two wastewater districts as they grapple with the challenges of keeping older systems operational. The solution? Quality workmanship, a 50+ year extended life, and a cost effective means of rehabilitation versus replacement.

Lake County Special Districts in California needed two service laterals rehabilitated. Through the cleaning and inspection process, HydroTech’s crew was able to identify previous point repairs which had restricted the laterals to 40-50% of their diameters.

By working with the project engineer an agreement was reached to open them to 100% using air compression so the Top Hat™ seals could be properly installed. A spot repair was added, and Top Hats™ were also installed at 4 additional locations. HydroTech was the prime contractor on this project. Stan Schubert of Lake County Special Districts stated, “I know we will be working together again as we have many more sites which require repair.”

PEC (Planned Engineering and Construction) out of Helena, Montana was selected as the prime contractor for a large sewer rehabilitation project for the Cottonwood Improvement District in Sandy, Utah. They selected HydroTech Inc. as a subcontractor and authorized Top Hat™ installer. Over 4,700 linear feet of sewer line was cleaned, inspected, and lined. Once that phase was completed HydroTech was able to rehabilitate the service lateral connections to the equivalent of new to match the rehabilitation work done on the sewer line.
